Cookie Policy

The short version: the Afto website does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking. We use technologies needed to deliver and secure the pages, account session, and forms you request, plus a local appearance preference when you choose light, dark, or system mode.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a site. "Session" cookies expire when you close your browser; "persistent" cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. Similar browser technologies include local storage and pixels.

2. Categories we use

The current marketing site may use strictly necessary delivery and security technologies provided by our hosting and infrastructure vendors. Afto does not currently enable:

  • Google Analytics or another optional site analytics cookie;
  • advertising or retargeting cookies;
  • preference categories that require a consent manager; or
  • cross-site sale or sharing of browsing activity.

When you choose an appearance mode, Afto stores that choice in your browser's local storage. It contains only the selected value (light, dark, or system), is set in direct response to your choice, is not sent to an advertising network, and is not used to track you across sites.

Afto also stores a notice-dismissal value after the informational cookie notice closes or times out. This prevents the same notice from repeatedly covering the site. The value contains no account, advertising, or browsing-history information and is not used to track you across sites.

The contact and support forms send the information you submit directly to Afto's intake service. They do not require an advertising identifier.

3. Third-party infrastructure

Hosting, security, map, and media providers receive the technical request data needed to return their resources, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and request time. The current site does not authorize those providers to place Afto advertising cookies.

4. Managing browser storage

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage in settings. Blocking strictly necessary delivery or security technologies can prevent a page or form from working correctly.

Because Afto does not currently enable analytics, advertising, or other optional cookie categories that require consent on this site, there is no "Cookie Preferences" control. You can change or clear the appearance preference at any time through the site menu or your browser storage settings. Before Afto enables non-essential analytics, functionality, or advertising cookies, we will update this notice and add any consent controls required by applicable law.

5. Mobile app

The Afto mobile app may use device storage and SDK identifiers needed for app operation, authentication, security, notifications, and user-requested integrations. Mobile permissions are managed through the app and operating-system settings. This website notice does not claim that optional advertising tracking is active in the app.

This policy works alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle the information collected through cookies once it's in our systems.

7. Changes

We'll update the "last updated" date above when this policy changes, and for material changes we'll follow the notice periods described in our Terms of Service.
