Host Eligibility Requirements
Hosts and vehicles must meet the onboarding, ownership, safety, and payout requirements before a listing can go live.
Prelaunch: New access is currently invite-only for hosts. Enrolled hosts can prepare private drafts; listings cannot accept live bookings yet.
Host requirements
- Verified identity. Complete the identity steps shown during invited-host onboarding.
- Legal authority to rent the vehicle. You must own the vehicle or have permission from the lienholder or lessor to use it for car sharing.
- US payout account. Complete the Stripe Connect onboarding needed for Afto payouts.
- Accurate attestations. The vehicle draft requires the clean-title and rental-authority attestations.
Afto's product attestation does not amend a loan, lease, insurance policy, or state requirement. Check those obligations yourself before listing.
Vehicle requirements
- Model year no more than 12 years old under the server's current-year rule
- Fewer than 130,000 miles
- Clean, non-salvage title
- Complete required vehicle identity, condition, pricing, location, availability, and photo information
- No unresolved safety recall that blocks marketplace eligibility
- A current, reviewed, approved annual inspection
The model-year calculation moves with the calendar year. The vehicle-creation form enforces the current eligible range instead of relying on a permanently written model-year example.
Listing review
Upload the annual inspection before submitting the listing for operations review. A current approved inspection, complete listing, and required safety checks are needed before a vehicle can become publicly listed.
During the host beta, completing the invite program or graduating from its preparation gate does not bypass inspection or listing review.
Staying eligible
- Renew the annual inspection before it expires.
- Keep the listing, odometer, photos, features, location, and vehicle condition accurate.
- Resolve blocking recalls before marketplace visibility is restored.
- Keep the account in good standing.
Repeated cancellations, failed inspections, fraud, or verified guideline violations can lead to account review, restriction, suspension, or deactivation. Notice and any eligible appeal follow Account Deactivation and Appeals.
